Yosemite Valley in 35mm

Finally got around to editing all my scanned film from a trip to Yosemite Valley last summer :)

I was mostly hiking with my film camera because it's so light and isn't bothered by too much water. A large majority of these images were shot on the day hike up to Half Dome. I lovee Yosemite!

Fine Art

My soul is drawn to fine art, to black and white, to infinite tones and playful shadows... Last session, while in Joyce Wilson's 'Beyond Portraiture' class, we created handmade fine art albums..

I decided to shoot all of my images on black and white 35mm.. these photographs mean so much to me.

When I go out for a day, just shooting for fun, this is what I like to create!

Pure Sunshine

"Pure Sunshine"

went to the beach

just the other day

brought with me a cup

not too big, not too small

just enough to fill me up

at the edge of two worlds

I stood

the tide came in

crept up my toes

I brought up my chin

the sun was the highest

I have ever seen

and I lifted my cup

filled it up

pure sunshine

like hot coco

on a winters day

it was warm in my hands

and glowing, wild with rays

I put it to my lips

my eyes began to squint

and I marveled at this light

holding on tight

Deliciously smooth

warm and tingly

flowing throughout my body

from head to toe

in ever tip

I'm filled with light

from just one sip

I am pure

pure sunshine

Colorado weekend trip in 35mm color film

A few months ago, I spent a weekend in Boulder/Colorado Springs, Colorado. It was SO much fun. I'm falling in love with that place.I wanted to travel light so I took only my 35 mm.

A little excerpt from my journal entry on the plane back:

"the trees are constantly glowing- the sun can be zenith in the sky and somehow, the light is perfect- and these trees are everywhere! Fields full of them, mountains covered in them, streams and creeks lined with them... waterfalls soak them with mist, birds fill them with song, and rays are always filling them with light."
